Seeking help with repairs on my bmw

Description

I am a pretty decent mechanic when it comes to doing my own repairs on my cars.. I have done some really big repairs on my own. Vehicles and can generally fix whatever issue I am having on my cars myself. I have had this 07 bmw 550i for about 3 years, and it has been nothing but a money pit and a yard ornament since I got it. I recently had to replace the passenger side valve cover and have been in successful at getting it seated down in the back near the fire wall. My friend who also is a pretty good backyard mechanic spent several days trying to get it seated as well and was unsuccessful for some reason. We both used cameras to get back there and see what the problem was, and all type of shit.. we both have no idea.it ended up being a small fire which didn't damage anything from oil dripping onto the exhaust after driving it a few blocks home after that job. Thank god I caught it right away snd extinguished it before it had time to do any damage to anything, but either way I would like to find someone who will redo that valve cover job and get it seated down correctly. Also, ever since I got the car it has seemed to have had some type of issue with the main ECU or "dme" which makes it do all type of things which has resulted in me dumping what I believe to have been thousands of dollars into it fixing things that were not actually wrong with it, but presented itsself to have gone bad as a result of a faulty ECU... If there's anyone out there who might be able to help me cost effectively, I should be getting some money this coming week and would greatly appreciate your help. It's my hope that you be skilled and knowledgeable and proficient in "bmw" it's preferred that you have more than just a regular obsII scanner, and have the knowledge of how to work a really good scanner so that you can check and diagnose things it is doing with that. Thanks
