The following are some of the work assignments, go to Careers.Didlake.org search in Baltimore to learn more. • Cut grass, using walk behind type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.). • Trim hedges and edges around walks, plant beds and other areas designated within the contract statement of work, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools. • Spray lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer or insecticide under the training of an authorized licensed supervisor. • Operate a spin trimmer (Commonly known as a "weed eater") • Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools. • Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs. Cultivates and mulch planting beds. • Water lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or activating sprinkler system. • Picks up and burns or carts away leaves, paper or other litter. Must be able to • Obtain and maintain credential/background check for airport access. • Communicate effectively. • Learn the proper use and provide minor operator maintenance of some routine grounds maintenance equipment.
