I have an elderly medium sized dog that lived in a retirement center with her owner. Her 90 year old owner's dementia became so bad that she is not able to have it. I have 2 young children that are too loud for her, she is use to being in a quiet environment. She has never once barked at or tried to attack my children. She just shakes when they are too loud. She walks on a leash and is potty trained. She does not get on furniture at all. She will lay on a dog bed or a blanket on the ground. She is a Rottweiler mix is all I know. She is very calm.
