***Please forward this to your gyro buddy!!***
Hello! I am pulling the trigger on my lifelong dream of flight. I toured sportcopter's facility in Scappoose, took a flight, and fell in love 20 yrs ago.
For my needs, and geographic location I have determined that getting my sport pilot license with an autogyro rating checks all the boxes.
I am a primary student, so starting from scratch. I am a state worker, so neither rich nor famous. Have to do this smart, and on a budget.
Is there gyro specific ground school closer than Los Angeles, or is general sport pilot ground school sufficient to pass the written? I know there are online courses that just help you pass the test, but I need all of the information, not just the answers.
I am getting this rolling for this summer. I am getting a $3400 bonus in July I can devote to my education/expenses, and have the 1st week in August off.
I realize that $3400 is not going to get me through ground school and flight training. I am hoping it will cover the ground school portion. I should have no problem saving enough money to take on flight training next summer.
Any info/advice GREATLY appreciated! Thank you.
