Summary Our food manufacturing plant is looking for a hardworking Sanitation Worker. In this role, you will use USDA-approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production and processing equipment, and ensure that there is no unnecessary waste along the assembly line. You will also clean the floors, ensure that the building ventilation is clean and working correctly, and refill sanitary products and soap in the bathrooms. Since we provide consumable products for sale and distribution to the public, we expect you to report any potential contamination issues. You may be asked to help with other packaging or processing tasks as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Clean, wash, sterilize production equipment and production area using water hoses, cleaning or sterilizing solutions, and/or rinses.  General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition.  Vacuum, Sweep, and Mop floors.  Cleaning and stock restrooms.  Collect and dispose of trash.  Report daily food safety, food quality and employee safety and machine equipment problems to Plant Lead Operator and/or immediate supervisor.  Obtains and practices a general understanding of equipment functions, standard operating procedures and safety policies.  Set up, prepare, tend and operate equipment, supplies and raw materials to produce products according to the daily production schedule.  Observe, monitor and/or place the final product in the assigned container in accordance to company specifications.  May be required to help pack products in warehouse following the company packing procedures/standards, and warehouse safety rules. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of the employee encounter while performing the essential and supportive functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly near moving mechanical parts. Also, working under extremely hygienic, high humidity, cold or hot conditions on slippery floor. Working Conditions This position works Monday through Friday. This position may be required to work overtime.
