Black History Month event: Vendor fair for Black & Minority owned businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Join us for a Black History Month event to remember. FREE FOR SHOPPERS, TICKETS FOR VENDORS. Black Wall Street at Mountain View College celebrates innovation and entrepreneurship within a diverse, multicultural community. We will showcase products and services that we have in the black community and expose those businesses to the community at large. No matter the city or decade, the spirit of Black Wall Street remains the same – building communities and wealth through business ownership. Black Wall Street at Mountaing View will include guest speakers and entertainment from students and community members. Special Guest: IIyasah Shabazz, Daugter of Malcolm X, Professor & Author 4:00PM VENDORS, YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE We would like to extend an invitation for vendors to exhibit & advertise your business and/or services to a community of students, staff and friends of the local community. Vendor space is only $25.00 per 6 ft x 3 ft. long skirted table and benefits the students of the Mountain View Fitness Club.  ATTENTION ALL FOOD VENDORS: ALL FOOD MUST BE SEALED AND PRE-PACKAGED. History of Black Wall Street (Tulsa Oklahoma) A lot of people don’t realize both the tragedy and triumph of Black Wall Street, which in Tulsa, OK was the name for the Greenwood District; an economically thriving community with well over 300 black-owned businesses, including banks, movie theatres, hospitals, hotels, and much more. The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, historically known as the 1921 Race Riot, is considered by some to be the first documented case of the U.S. using airstrikes against its own citizens. The entire Greenwood District was burned to the ground by white Tulsans, including members of law enforcement and government, and that history was not meaningfully addressed for decades.   Kristy R.
