First 5 Butte County and North Valley Community Foundation are pleased to invite you,or a select representative of your agency, to participate in a two day grant writing workshop provided by Grant Writers of America. This will be an in-person event unless conditions require the event take place virtually. There will not be a hybrid option for the workshop. This workshop will focus on developing the key skills that are essential to acquire competitive funding from government agencies and private foundations. Grant writing requires basic processes, content knowledge, writing proficiency, strong research skills, creativity, organizational ability, and patience. This workshop is built to equip you with the skills needed to develop a competitive funding proposal. The training will focus on: Basic components of a grant applicationStrategies for developing a proposalHow to identify potential funding sourcesHow to read and understand the proposal guidelines and requests for proposals (RFP)Writing goals and outcomes objectivesPreparation and justification of budgetsCost-sharingProcedures fro grant submission The grant review processThe two -day training program will provide an introduction to the basic skills, principles and techniques of successful grant writing.
