Somerset Door & Window - Delivery/Shop Assistant Someone with experience in this role is preferred, beginners training is available for motivated person looking for long term employment. This position is responsible for: a safe and organized working environment, handling of materials and equipment, receiving and making deliveries. Detailed Key Areas of Responsibility below keeping in mind Somerset is willing to train. Position has potential for growth with a very experienced team. Contact Somerset Door & Window for information on these other positions** Benefits Job Type: Full-time Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm Salary: $16.00 to $19.00 /hour (depending on experience) Health insurance. 401(k) retirement program with employer match. Paid holidays and vacation. Key areas of Responsibility -Receiving Maintain established shipping/receiving procedures. Ensure product received is correct and quality is up to Somerset standards. Match packing slips with purchase orders and ensure that the office receives them in a timely manner. Label items appropriately. Organize received items making sure of proper placement in the shop. Prep for return of any incorrect product as necessary. -Deliveries Safely load and unload items in a timely and safe manner. Ensure all products needed for the job site are loaded undamaged. Ensure that proper packing slips are ready for clients to sign-off on. Collect payments before unloading as needed. -Shop Knowledge of hand tools (saws, planes, chisels, hammer, etc.) Basic knowledge of power tools (skill saw, jigsaw, drills, routers, sander, etc.) Operating a forklift (preferred, but not required) Operation of saws and other shop equipment. Building and stocking materials as assigned. Keep warehouse clean, well-organized, and safe. Pulling material to use for assembly. Ongoing basis: rearrange shop and stage product to meet scheduled shop workload. -Qualifications Strong sense of customer service while maintaining company policies and procedures. Ability to prioritize multiple high-ranking projects. Good organizational, driving and time management skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally. Must have a valid driver’s license and Good Driving Record. Woodworking experience preferred. Experience with hand tools, saws, and other shop equipment Ability to bend and twist in awkward positions. Must be able to read a tape measure. Must be willing to know and utilize all safety precautions for all tools and machinery. Must be able to follow oral instruction. Basic reading, writing comprehension and math skills required, detail oriented a must. -Key Behaviors Takes time to listen, really hearing what others have to say.
