Chapman Construction, a General Contractor specializing in new custom homes and custom remodels. All applicants must be able to SHOW UP EVERY DAY, ON TIME, READY TO WORK. If you are unable to meet these basic requirements do not apply. 1st Year Apprentice Carpenter: - No experience/tools necessary. Carpentry training is provided as part of this position. - Duties include but are not limited to hand excavation, demolition, clean up, loading and unloading trucks, supporting carpentry crew. - Must have good communications skills and ability to follow direction. - Must have reliable personal transportation (not dropped off by family/friends) and valid CA driver's license. Clean driving record is a plus. 3rd Year to 5th Year Apprentice: - Must have at least 3 years residential carpentry experience and basic carpentry tools. Training in addition to existing skills is provided as part of this position. - Duties include but are not limited to hand excavation, demolition, concrete forms and steel, framing, siding/trim and assisting with hanging doors/windows, cabinets and interior finish carpentry. - Must have good communications skills and ability to follow direction. - Must have reliable personal transportation (not dropped off by family/friends) and valid CA driver's license. Journeyman/Lead: - Must have at least 6 years residential carpentry experience and 1 year lead/management experience. - Must have tools. - Duties include but are not limited to interacting with the Contractor and Superintendent to facilitate daily operations of their assigned project. Leadership of crew placed under their direction. Carpenter duties such as forms, framing, siding, doors, windows, cabinets, interior finishes. - Must have good communication skills. - Must have reliable personal transportation (not dropped off by family/friends) and valid CA driver's license.
