Sample a Kentucky bourbon made with a bit of juice from the iconic Louisville Stitzel-Weller Distillery that closed in '92.
(The original closed in 1992. Diageo reopened it in 2014.) The Solera System aging process is used to preserve some of their oldest whiskey, including some of the last produced at the original site, and blend it in with the new.
Diageo states that “The Blade and Bow brand is a tribute to the five keys that once hung on the door of the Stitzel-Weller Distillery,” which stands for the five steps of making bourbon - grains, yeast, fermentation, distillation, and aging.
Each bottle of Blade and Bow comes with a different key, and anyone who collects all five can become a member of their Five Keys Club.
