MASSAPEQUA, NY — Massapequa firefighters battled a blaze Thursday night that threatened multiple homes on Orchard Street. According to sources, the fire started in a detached garage of a home on Orchard Street, and had spread to shed by the time the first firefighters arrived on the scene. The flames were starting to threaten three other nearby homes. Firefighters from the Massapequa, North Massapequa, Seaford and Wantagh fire departments all responded, and managed to quickly get the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
