GREENWICH, CT — A Tennessee lawmaker has proposed a bill that would move undocumented immigrants to various cities and towns across the United States, including Greenwich. Republican State Rep. Bruce Griffey filed HB1994 on Wednesday. "The Biden administration is quietly moving thousands of illegals to various states, including Tennessee, by putting them on planes and buses and transporting them in the middle of the night, and we should return them to their sender!" Griffey said in a news release, according to News 4 Nashville. "I imagine that if we relocated them to the backyards of those responsible for allowing the flood of illegal immigration across our border, then those with federal power might be more apt to secure the border and secure it quickly." According to the bill, "The commissioner of safety, in collaboration with the commissioner of human services, shall develop and implement a system to identify and relocate illegal aliens as soon as practicable upon arrival in this state on and after the effective date of this act." The bill notes that undocumented immigrants should be moved to: Block Island, RI; Greenwich, Conn.; Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; Governors Island, N.Y.; Rehoboth Beach, Del.; Nantucket, Mass.; Newport, RI; Scarsdale, N.Y.; Palo Alto, Calif.; Yountville, Calif.; St. Helena, Calif.; or North Hero, Vt. Griffey didn't specify why those particular cities were chosen. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki graduated from Greenwich High School in 1996. News4 Nashville noted that President Joe Biden has a home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a property in St. Helena, Calif. California is also home to Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Sen. Bernie Sanders has a home in North Hero, Vt., News4 Nashville said.
