ASHBURN, VA — A man from Ashburn was arrested on Thursday in New York City after he was accused of crashing his car into Taylor Swift's townhome, according to a report from FOX 5 NY. Police said the man also tried to force his way into the singer's home.
The man, 31-year-old Morgan Mank, was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, FOX 5 NY reported.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Thursday. Police claimed that Mank drove the wrong way down a street before reversing and striking Swift's building and a fire hydrant, reports said.
The police department said that the man tried to force his way into the building, but he was unsuccessful. The man was taken into custody and driven to a nearby hospital for an evaluation, authorities reported on Friday afternoon.
Authorities did not say whether Swift was home at the time of the crash.
TMZ reported that law enforcement sources said Mank told officers he was not going to leave the area until he met with Swift.
Swift owns a townhouse and several adjacent apartments in the neighborhood, according to the Associated Press. A different man was previously arrested after he was accused of stalking Swift at the New York residence.
More information about the crash and previous incidents at Swift's New York home is available from FOX 5 NY.
