BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Fire Department announced Thursday that it posthumously promoted one of its firefighters killed earlier this week in the vacant row house fire in southwest Baltimore. Kelsey Sadler was serving as an acting lieutenant for the department when she was killed in the line of duty Monday morning along the 200 block of South Stricker Street. Three days after her death, her department officially promoted her to the ranks of lieutenant. "She will forever be remembered for her commitment and bravery to BCFD and to Baltimore," the department posted to its Facebook page. Sadler suffered cardiac arrest at the scene, officials said. Two other firefighters, Lt. Paul Butrim and EMT/Firefighter Kenneth Lacayo, also died fighting the fire. John McMaster, a fourth firefighter injured in the blaze, was released from the hospital Thursday, the department said.
