Two organizations are merging to boost economic development in Henderson.
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Henderson Partnership have announced the move, which will take effect April 1st.
A release from the Community Foundation Alliance says the boards of each organization decided to join forces and streamline their individual missions following a two-month study.
A merger committee worked through issues like membership, charters, by-laws, and finances.
The Downtown Henderson Partnership actually began as an organization within the Chamber -- then called Downtown Henderson Project -- before it branched out on its own.
With the merger, the DHP will become a division of the Chamber.
DHP Director Lindsay Locasto said the group's previous events, including Porchfest, the July 4th Fireworks, and the Art Hop, will continue.
