TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Community Clean-Up Day is set for this Saturday, Jan. 29 as residents of Woodstock and Green Pond aim to tidy up the area, particularly in the vicinity of Grey Hill Road. Click here to subscribe to our free daily newsletter and breaking news alerts. The volunteer effort will focus on the portion of the road between Highway 11 and the four-way stop at Eastern Valley Road. All ages are welcome to attend and trash bags will be donated by the Bibb County Commission. Those wishing to participate can park at Green Pond Baptist church for bags, with a church bus serving as a shuttle for volunteers. Log clearing and truck teams will also meet at the church to parcel out areas of focus. As part of the Community Clean-Up, a large dumpster will be positioned in the parking lot between the Green Pond Fire Department and the local ballpark. Clean-up begins at 9 a.m. and will last until 11:30 a.m. For more information, call Bill Baker at (205) 613-2183. Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
