Participants: We are looking for adults (age 18-35) to participate in a research study looking at effects of two treatments (erythropoietin (EPO) and iron) on acute mountain sickness and exercise performance during a 14 day stay at altitude. This study includes testing both at sea level (Eugene, OR) and at altitude (Colorado). There will be 6 testing days and 10 days of drug testing over 4 weeks at sea level. You will then travel to Colorado for 14 days of testing at altitude that will occur in the Summer of 2022. You will also compete 1 day of follow up testing within 7 days of returning to sea level. Compensation up to $600 paid upon completion. Travel, lodging, and food expenses to/from and while in Colorado are paid for. The research team is following all local and CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 to ensure this study is safe for all participants!
