Experienced teacher/tutor currently offering local and/or remote tutoring and coaching support in NYC. I am a visual artist with a BFA in Painting and can offer conservatory-style classical drawing and painting lessons, but I also have experience tutoring a variety of subjects beyond visual art. Because of my creative background, I enjoy integrating creative and art-based exercises into learning models regardless of subject. My approach is kid-centered and tries to make learning a fun and engaging activity. I am highly organized, able to follow and adapt an existing curriculum or create my own, and can help in creating streamlined individualized study plans for specific students' needs. I am also able to assist older kids with essay writing for the college application process. I scored in the 98th percentile on my SATs and achieved a perfect score on the Literature SATII. I was a finalist in the national "Best College Essays 2014" competition and two of my pieces were published as a result. I am also a current Fulbright semifinalist. Above all, I believe children and young people deserve to be respected and listened to and to learn in the way that works best for them.
