Landscape Technician Rogue Valley Mall, Medford, Oregon Summary: The Landscape Technician provides physical and horticulture support for the entire exterior aesthetics of the property. This role has wide ranging responsibilities, including mowing, trimming, edging, herbicide applications for weed control, irrigation maintenance, installing trees, shrubs, perennial and annual flowers, pruning trees and shrubs, maintaining grounds equipment and snow removal. This position requires the employee to be on-call for after-hours emergencies from time-to-time. Responsibilities: Maintain compliance with all codes, laws and regulations Follows all safety policies and procedures, maintains strict attention to detail when working on job sites Comply with all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs Complete assigned system generated work requests for services and within established time frames Move machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested Perform assigned landscaping inspections and due diligence efforts; report on as-found conditions. Maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas Place work orders as necessary to correct issues and improve the overall landscape appearance Recognize danger and safety hazards; propose methods to eliminate them Perform snow removal tasks during snow or icy events Perform seasonal tasks, as needed Knowledge and Personal skills: Team player, hard worker, punctual, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written form Provides excellent customer service by utilizing professional and effective language, communication and timely follow-through Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed Policies & Procedures. Knowledge and proficiency with basic computer operating system and programs (Outlook, Excel, Word and Chrome) Knowledge in plant selection and installation is preferred Experience, Education and Certifications: Education - High school diploma or equivalent Driver’s License Commercial pesticide applicator license is preferred Four (4) years of experience in a commercial landscaping environment is preferred Experience in operating most, if not all, of the following motorized equipment: ZTR mowers, string trimmers, edgers, utility tractors, utility vehicles and snow blowers Basic hand tool knowledge and equipment maintenance activities Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and stretching Desire to work in a fast-paced environment Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
