Local Driver Day Cab Full Time – Exempt with benefits About Swift Straw: Swift Straw is a mid-size company with offices around the Southeast. Since then, Swift Straw has grown multiple product lines to scale with the biggest retailers in the industry and has become the largest pine straw distributor in the United States. The firm has business units ranging from land acquisition to manufacturing, servicing customers from Texas to the Eastern Seaboard. Job Description: Swift Straw is looking for a Full-time local Class A driver home daily to transport pine straw throughout our network. The role will be based out of Swift Straw's McDonough, GA office. As a local driver, you will be transporting pine straw on van trailers from the McDonough location to various customers throughout GA/TN/AL. Will require extensive backing experience. This role will report to the McDonough Dispatch Team, with a dedicated dispatcher. Position is M-F dayshift, with the possibility of weekend work. Responsibilities: Punctual Pre/Post trips ELD experience/Maintain driver logs Assist in loading/unloading trailer when necessary Report all safety discrepancies Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations that govern safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance Transport pine straw continuously throughout our service area Work with minimal supervision while maintaining high energy Be available for work at all times to meet customer demands Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive accordingly in inclement weather Be comfortable using GPS and other routing systems Adhere to company rules and regulations Qualifications: Positive attitude and self-motivated Exemplify our company's Core Values Able to work independently Possess safe driver skills Excellent communication skills Strong knowledge of surrounding area Two years recent Class A experience Valid commercial driver's license Current medical card/physical Flexibility to bend, kneel, twist, squat, stand, and climb as required Pass a company-paid pre-hire drug screen Benefits: Competitive Benefits package Health/Dental/Vision/Life HSA account Weekly pay Potential for extra loads Dedicated maintenance team Paid Time Off Mobile ADP Profile To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
