Gardeners assistant starting in Spring 2022. We work 5 days a week on average (sometimes 3-5 days a week depending on weather) starting mid March and continuing through December 2020. If the season goes well you may be asked back for the following year. Professional experience with plants preferred, a strong interest in working outside and with plants is required. If you don't have gardening experience we've had some success with people who have restaurant, barista, or other service job experience - we usually work on two or three gardens each day so being able to move quickly is a must. We meet at our headquarters in the Germantown/Mt. Airy area in the mornings and then work mostly in Center City and the surrounded neighborhoods. We are looking for someone who can follow directions well. Work involves planting and maintaining small gardens – annuals, perennials, small trees, shrubs. The ability to lift and carry 60 pounds is required, as is a valid driver's license. We have two small pickup trucks and driving them in the city is part of work every day. You must be on time to work every day. Must be willing to work in all weather conditions. Must have drivers license, cell phone. Helpful to have car. Able to identify I weeds and pests and diseases important. Business based in Mount Airy. We start our workers at $17-$23/hour, depending on experience. Send a response along with an attached resume.
