Temp to Permanent School Janitor: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm in West Newton, MA is urgently seeking a School Janitor to provide general custodial/maintenance services to keep our school facilities and grounds safe and clean for all students, staff, and visitors. This is a temporary Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm position with potential to join our staff permanently. Learning Prep School is a great place to work! Qualifications High School Diploma/Vocational School preferred Experience in facilities maintenance in a school, hospital, or similar facility preferred Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm Reports to: Director of Facilities Responsibilities: Cleaning and care of the interior and exterior of our school buildings Snow removal and sanding/salting of pathways, sidewalks, and outside stairs. Demonstrate safe work habits, including the proper care, use, and safety of all hazardous materials, chemicals, and equipment Report any safety concerns or faulty equipment immediately to the Director of Facilities in writing Must be able to work with minimal supervision Requirements: Must be able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs, stand/walk for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, work with standard cleaning materials and equipment, and bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch to perform work. Must pass CORI and fingerprinting background check Must comply with our school COVID safety precautions (see below) COVID-19 precautions at LPS: We follow a rigorous COVID safety plan including: wearing masks at all times when indoors, social distancing, 3x daily cleaning of the facilities, on-site testing for any individuals that become symptomatic at school, and weekly policy review by our COVID response committee. We strongly recommend that employees remain up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations and offer all employees bi-weekly rapid testing.
