forming a professional women's vocal trio

Description

I am looking for two singers to join me in forming a professional women’s vocal trio. It will be a cappella to start in order to get our sound down tight, then potentially adding a band and/or bass/VP for gigs as we develop. The repertoire will be old school pop and jazz/swing, but with a contemporary sound and rangy, tight harmonies. We’ll ultimately sing what suits the three of us best, but my initial idea is to develop arrangements from the following three areas of music genres / influences: 1) Pop oldies hits from predominately male groups (think Bee Gees, The Beatles, Jackson 5, Earth Wind Fire, Simon and Garfunkel, Queen, Beach Boys). My favorite group with this vibe is called O’G3NE from Holland. Check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7DD-WkHsVY (and I have an exact transcription of this song). Check out their other stuff too! 2) Jazz and swing standards that are still recognizable to most audiences across many decades including favorites from the roaring twenties, the 1940s with the Andrew Sisters as well as Christmas favorites. Check out the American Sirens out of Orlando https://www.youtube.com/c/TheAmericanSirens, and the Puppini Sisters (not actual sisters) from the UK https://www.youtube.com/c/ThePuppiniSistersOfficial/videos. These two groups have fantastic take on so many great trio classics. 3) The last category would be literature from more diverse groups from the 1960s going forward including The Supremes, the Bangles, the Pointer Sisters and Dixie Chicks and many others. Additionally, there are a lot of excellent current vocal trios like The Iris Vocal Jazz Trio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_oBQXhnHso, Pentatonix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zad7OsXjSg0, and so many more. I hope I have piqued your interest a bit! Again, the goal is to sing mostly recognizable songs from the past with a fresh and modern sound! You.. are an alto or mezzo with a great range and a pop sound, but can move in and of many style have a cappella or extensive harmony experience and love to sing harmony can read music well (likely from having played an instrument first?! Maybe you’re even a music teacher!) have soloist capabilities so that we can all be featured and equally entertain an audience have an ear for jazz and know how to swing have the time to practice all the charts on your own time can rehearse in Seattle once a week are probably over 40 but probably younger than 65, like me! And about me.. I am a former music teacher (choral and band) and a cappella and jazz singer, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. The last group I sang with there won the regional a cappella sweeps competition, but I haven’t done much music since then. I can sing lead and have a high upper range but I am happy to sing lower parts too. Ok let’s do this! Reach out to me and I’ll send a couple of charts over and we can get together and sing through a few things to see what we think!
