Yakima Valley Tutoring & Explore your Wild After School Programs is urgently seeking qualified candidates to fill our part-time Instructor and Site Coordinator positions that will be based at our new program starting at Morgan Middle School in Ellensburg ASAP. This is a grant funded position from the state of Washington. Pay is $25 per hour Monday - Thursday 2:15-3:15pm. Job Description We are currently seeking qualified Instructors and a Site Coordinator to provide in-person tutoring at our Ellensburg Middle school location. Qualified candidates will preferably possess (or be working on) a Bachelor’s degree or have previous teaching or instruction experience. Enthusiasm to make a difference in a child's life is a must! CERTIFIED TEACHERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Tutoring a group of students working on individual material. • Homework help in reading or math on paper and online. Provide clarifying descriptions, pose questions, expand upon ideas, provide examples and teach on the spot. • Use your education and experience to create and implement engaging learning activities for all students. • We do not set kids up on iPads or software programs and let them go. We work individually with each student in-person on school work at their level. We are looking for staff that can engage students, teach fundamentals, inspire, motivate, and incorporate SEL concepts and principles into activities and instruction. Program will be at the school - after school operated by Yakima Valley Tutoring / Explore Your Wild After School Programs in partnership with the Ellensburg School District.
