Press release from the JAX Chamber: January 26, 2022 LifeSouth Community Blood Centers invites the public to honor National Blood Donor Month by donating blood this week. The LifeSouth bloodmobile will be onsite at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. Each donor who gives will receive a $10 e-gift card and a long sleeved t-shirt as a thank you for giving the gift of life.   LifeSouth provides blood for approximately 70% of all hospital beds in Northeast Florida and they are currently experiencing a shortage of blood due to canceled blood drives. Each donation collected has the potential to save three lives here on the First Coast. Blood can not be manufactured and due to the critical national blood supply shortage, the gift of blood is more impactful than ever before.   Donors must be 17 years or older (16 with parent permission), at least 110 pounds, in good health and present a valid photo ID to be eligible.
