Press release from the Town of Dedham: August 24, 2020 Following the resignation of former Board of Trustees members in July, the Town seeks volunteers to perform the functions of the Board until new Trustees can be elected in 2021. The Select Board will make the appointments. The Board is responsible for overseeing the library, hiring and evaluating the library director, establishing policy and strategic plans, determining the final budget and conducting public relations and advocacy on behalf of the library. The Board should be representative of the community at large and candidates from a diversity of racial, socioeconomic, demographic and personal or professional backgrounds are encouraged.
