Description
DEDHAM, MA — The Dedham School District is working to address traffic and safety concerns at several of its schools. The district is inviting parents and community members to an open meeting on Feb. 4 to discuss the ongoing traffic circulation study.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the Dedham High School cafeteria. The traffic study is focused on the Avery Elementary, Dedham Middle School, Dedham High School campus and surrounding areas. The study is being conducted in response to the critical need for improving student and staff safety in the school campus area.
The open-house style meeting will include the traffic engineering firm, VHB, who will showcase five to six alternative options for consideration. Each option builds off the findings from three data collection periods over the last ten months, all offering different ways to improve student safety and alleviate concerns with school and athletic event traffic.
Attendees will be able to learn about each option from a VHB traffic engineer, ask questions, and provide comments. Input from the meeting will be incorporated into feedback from town leadership and key departments before a final recommendation is made.
