HARLEM, NY — A man was shot and injured on a West Harlem street Thursday, possibly by a group of men who fled the scene, police said.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on West 126th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam avenues.
The victim, a 31-year-old man, told police he had heard shots and felt pain, ultimately finding that he had been shot once in the leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital for the non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Several unidentified men were seen fleeing the area on foot after the shooting, according to an NYPD spokesperson, but police have not determined whether they were responsible.
