Several Pets Rescued From Smokey Beverly Fire

BEVERLY, MA — Several pets were "unscathed but displeased" after being rescued from a smokey Blaine Avenue fire in Beverly Wednesday afternoon. The Beverly Fire Department said crews from Engine 5 responded to the apartment building shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday and found smoke coming from the rear of the four-unit apartment building. "Significant smoke" was coming from the first floor right side of the building. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and contained it to the rear wall. "No injuries were reported and several unscathed but displeased pets were assisted from the building," Beverly fire said. Danvers crews provided mutual aid.
