CONNECTICUT — Snow accumulation estimates are rising in some parts of Connecticut as a nor'easter approaches on Saturday. The National Weather Service released an updated snow accumulation estimate map for Connecticut on Thursday afternoon, and it shows 12-18 inches of snow for New London County and parts of eastern Windham County. (See the map below). The Interstate 95 corridor from Greenwich to Clinton shows 8-12 inches of snow, while northern sections of Litchfield County may see the least snow, with 4-6 inches of snow, according to the weather service. The Danbury metro area is expected to receive 6-8 inches of snow, according to the weather service. The Hartford area is forecast to see 6-8 inches of snow, while areas east of the Capitol City, including Tolland County, will receive 8-12 inches, the weather service predicts. Interior sections of New Haven and Middlesex County are forecast to see 8-12 inches. A winter storm watch has now been extended to all of Connecticut as the snow begins early Saturday and is expected to continue throughout Saturday. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. New Haven/Middlesex County A winter storm watch is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday evening. Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 13 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. New London County A winter storm watch is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday evening. Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 14 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Hartford County A winter storm watch is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday evening. Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 9 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Tolland/Windham County A winter storm watch is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday evening. Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Litchfield County A winter storm watch is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday evening. Moderate to heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulation of 3 to 8 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
