HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — If you drink soda, two Havre de Grace residents could really use the tabs from the cans — so don't toss them!
According to the Havre de Grace police, two local residents identified only by their first names, Isabella and Kai, are collecting soda tabs. The police department is serving as a collection site.
"Isabella and Kai have a goal to collect over 50 pounds of tabs!" the police department posted to Facebook. "So please bring the tabs into our lobby to support the cause!"
The police department hopes to beat its previous donation record of 50 pounds of soda tabs.

The tab collection is part of a fundraiser with the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The money gathered after recycling the tabs will help families with transportation to the Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House supports seriously ill children and their families with lodging, meals, and other support services while being close to medical facilities.
"We believe when families are together, they cope better. We believe no family should have to deal with their child's medical crisis alone," RMHS' website reads.
The police department is located at 715 Pennington Avenue in Havre de Grace.
