COVID-19 related deaths and infections continue to climb in western Kentucky.
The Green River District Health Department added seven deaths and more than 4,700 new infections in its Tuesday report.
Six of the fatalities were in Daviess County and one in Henderson County.
The deaths and infections were recorded between last Wednesday and this Monday in the seven-county district.
The pandemic death toll in Daviess County reached 342. Henderson County's toll climbed to 141.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said Monday that he hoped the commonwealth was nearing its infection peak.
But he said even if that's the case, it's going to take at least a couple of weeks, if not three, to "get to a much safer place."
