In an email sent to Westwood Public Schools parents on July 15, 2020, Superintendent Emily Parks informed the community that a program staff member in the Extended School Year special education program tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing from the Westwood Department of Public Health has begun, and the Downey School has been closed to be cleaned "in accordance with [Centers for Disease Control] guidelines.
