One Dies in Santa Monica Freeway Collision Involving UPS Truck

LOS ANGELES, CA — One person was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle freeway crash near the Cheviot Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. Officers were called at 2:05 a.m. to the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway and Coventry Place where a silver SUV and a UPS truck collided, said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unknown if there were other injuries. The collision closed four lanes of the freeway. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
