Hanlon School PTO Selling Community Yard Signs #WWCommunity

Description

Hanlon School's PTO is selling "We're ALL in This TOGETHER" yard signs. The genesis of the idea came from Hanlon PTO co-chair Dori Parmalee. While on a walk with her PTO co-chair, Parmalee commented on the signs she saw in people's yards. "I thought it would be nice if there was one that united Westwood," she says. Parmalee brought the idea to Hanlon School principal Sarah Cronin. Cronin loved the idea and likened it to the red hearts for healthcare workers that were in windows in Scituate and other South Shore towns. One member of the Hanlon School PTO board is a graphic designer and designed the sign, which was then printed by Vistaprint. The first run of fifty signs sold out, and there are about six of the second run for sale. The signs may be purchased here. Proceeds from the sale of the signs are being used towards tents for potential outdoor classrooms, as well as air purifiers for each classroom. Parmalee noted that these purifiers are costly, beginning at $250 each. Parmalee emphasizes that Hanlon PTO's goal this year is to keep both families who are participating in hybrid learning and those who are fully remote engaged with the Hanlon community.
