Press release from the City of Raleigh: Jan 26, 2022 February is American Heart Month!  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States.  Anyone at any age can be at risk for heart disease but there are steps that you can take to improve your health and reduce your risk of developing heart disease. Heart Health Month is a great time to learn how to take care of your cardiovascular health. Join Raleigh Parks as we celebrate Heart Health Awareness Month, a national campaign that aims to raise awareness about the risks and signs of heart disease. Throughout February we will be offering access to a variety of fitness experiences and helpful tips to improve your heart health.    Heart Health Month activities will include: A Wear Red Pound® fitness class at John Chavis Memorial Park on February 4th from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. FREE 8-week Pound® fitness class series on Mondays each week from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm at John Chavis Chavis Memorial Park from starting February 7th to March 28th. FREE Exercise Programs at Pullen Park Aqua-Motion - Tuesdays at 8:00 am Pullen Aquatic Center Beginner Pilates - Thursdays at 11:00 am Pullen Community Center A Wear Red Register for Heart Health Month Programs here(link is external).
