Sundowner is currently seeking a full-time Trailer Technician / Mechanic in our fast-paced service department. If you are technically and mechanically inclined, this is the job for you! This person will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on recreational trailers. We are looking for someone who is responsible and dedicated, must be organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently. Has daily contact with supervisors, co-workers, and sales personnel regarding the service of units, repairs, and maintenance required. Must have own hand tools and toolbox. Salary: $20-$25 per hour. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Basic diagnosis and troubleshooting for trailer repairs. • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance. • Install trailer hitches and brake controllers. • Install trailer accessories and add-ons. • Prepare and maintain records and reports. • Basic auto repair. • Body/Dent Repair. • Electrical diagnosis. • Recreational vehicle servicing. CONSIDERABLE KNOWLEDGE: • Methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance. • Performing mechanical/ electrical repairs in a timely manner. • Safety best practices and procedures. MANDATORY SKILLS: • Use of power and hand tools. • Welding and fabricating. • Operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes. • Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 100 pounds. • Prepare and maintain records and reports. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members. • Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specification. • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. • Operate or learn/train on forklift operation. EDUCATION: Experience and/or training in a repair and maintenance shop or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
