As our Community Integration Specialist, you will assist individuals with developmental disabilities learn and develop independence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Facilitate the full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the recreation, volunteer, and employment sites of their choosing
*Supports participants in as individuals as needed
*Teaches safety awareness as participants interact with their community
*Recognize and resolve unusual and unsafe issues, if necessary
*Transport participants to and from job/volunteer activities
*Train participants that are capable how to move independently around the community safely.
*Monitor client progress through case notes
*Complete Special Incident Reports as needed
*Participate in planning and developing new activity curriculum.
Skills Requirement:
*Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, Bachelor's preferred
*Bilingual language skills highly preferred. Spanish, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), American Sign
*Language (ASL), and Armenian (preferred)
*Ability to write clear case notes
*Able to recognize unusual or unsafe conditions related to persons with disabilities
*Strong time management skills,
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and communication applications including: Zoom, Facetime and Facebook Messenger, etc.
*A clean DMV printout and proof of auto insurance
*You must be able to pass the following Government requirements:
-TB test and health screening
-Criminal Record Clearance
-Able to pass First Aid/CPR certification required (within 30 days)
*One (1) year of experience working with individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities. (highly preferred)
