Job Purpose: Performs construction, maintenance, and design of landscapes. Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities: Operates power equipment and hand tools to install, maintain and construct landscape designs. May participate in the design or modification of new or existing designs. Maintains inventory of related parts and supplies. May lead workers on landscape construction projects and work on other grounds related assignments as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and methods of landscape design and construction. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to operate equipment such as skid steers, trenching machines and digging tools and other related grounds/landscape equipment. Ability to read and write English and possess good math skills. Ability to work in a safe environment. Experience: Two years of verifiable landscape install experience. Working conditions: Spends most time outdoors, frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus. Possible exposure to distraction/uncomfortable noise levels and vibration of body or extremities. Risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, etc. Possible exposure to fumes, odors, etc. that may affect respiration and skin. Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver's license and ability to be insured. LCP preferred but not required. Physical requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, climbing off and on equipment, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, talking, hearing, and seeing.
