A look at the modern social justice movement through the Old Testament Mosaic codes regarding care for the widow, orphan, and immigrant.
Every winter, Central Seminary conducts the MacDonald Lectures Series in Bible and Theology. This academic lecture series was created in memory of Charles MacDonald, Th.D. (1903-1971), beloved professor of pastoral theology at Central Seminary.
The idea of "social justice" is at the forefront of current cultural conversations. How should we behave towards the impovershed, marginalized, and foreigner? While Christians have traditionally had much to say on the subject, many fail to understand its Scriptural and theological foundation in the Mosaic code.
Join us, Tuesday, Feb. 9 as Dr. Preston Mayes, Professor of Old Testament at Central Seminary, lectures on this important topic and shows what Moses has to tell us about the modern social justice movement.
