VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S is a global market leader in maritime, offshore and fire safety, providing and servicing safety and fire-fighting equipment for passenger and cargo ships, offshore installations, fishing vessels, the Navy, helicopter services, fire departments and leisure yachts.
The successful individual will be responsible for representing the company in developing excellent customer relationships with all existing and potential customers through informative, efficient and friendly service. This position requires a team player able to interact with all departments.
Duties of the role will include but not limited to:
· Service rafts and verify that all rafts are in working condition
· Ensure, with the service manager, that the Viking Life Raft maintenance procedures are being done in accordance with updated manual (this including all tests according to regulations)
· Keep a check list for all rafts and their contents
· Verify that all expiration dates are current
· Every 2 years perform load test on rafts
· Every 5 years perform Gas inflation test on all life raft with the exception of NSI flag vessels
· After 11 years perform NAP and Floor seam tests
· If needed change container on Life Rafts sent from Denmark in round container and pack in low profile and or valise or as need per customer request
· Cleaning containers, repairing containers and properly labeling updated information on container
· Delivery of life rafts to ports and pickups, required personnel on weekend to make deliveries and pickups (due to new security measures by the Port authorities and due to time specification of 4:00 p.m. for Cruise vessel)
· Maintain raft room appearance
· Maintain property such as cleaning the parking lot, picking up garbage
· Make preparations for local Boat shows for sales department
Authority:
· Determine what are the items that need to be replaced in the Life Rafts
· What tests need to be performed on the Life Rafts
· Keep proper documentation on the Life Rafts
