Looking for an aid/compaign for my mom. So if you know anyone who can be an aid/ campaign for my mom please forward them my information. As an aid you become a member of the family. We respect one another for who they are. We look out for one another and be a support for each other to the best of our abilities. I am not absent from the picture. A loved one worded it perfectly "knowing she is taken care of frees my time, my energy and my mental space to be who I'm called to be while still making sure my responsibilities are taken care of." Hours: flexible but constant. Insurance approved 23 hours per week. Examples mon-fri 5pm to 9pm, 10am to 2pm. Occasional Saturday. Location: Bayport, ny Responsiblities: to check in on mom. Make sure she eats, including meal prep(we have the meals planned and purchased all that need to be done is cooking and put in her meal containers). Make sure her personal hygiene is maintained like spotting her in the shower to ensure she does not fall. Assist with her laundry. Wash her dishes when necessary. Mom has projects she wants to do at this point you would be helping her. Best way to describe it is to be mom's hands and feet. Simply put, she needs someone lift things for her and spot her so she does not fall. With neuropathy from the chemo walking and doing chores with her hands and feet is extremely difficult. Requirements: Know how to cook. Lift about 15lbs. Attentive. Masks MUST be worn at all times while on premise. The whole family wears one. Vax not nesscarry. Mom was a approved for the PCA (Person care assistant) orginally, we transferred her to the CDPAP program which allows ANYONE we apoint to help her.
