A science-based educational program for lawn-care and landscape maintenance workers. Pre-requisite for the Urban Fertilizer License. Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) Certification Program for proper fertilization, pest control, irrigation, and cultural practices for landscape and pest control professionals. Who should attend: Anyone working in lawn care, pest control, landscaping, or irrigation / Property managers / City and County employees, including parks, storm water, procurement, and planning / Landscape architects/designers Why you should attend: All commercial fertilizer applicators must have a license from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. To obtain this license, each commercial fertilizer applicator must first be trained in the Florida-Friendly Best Management Practices and receive a certificate of completion. Green Industries worker choose to participate in the program to better serve their clients Regulatory agencies need to keep contract specification updated with the new state requirements.
