The "Women of the World" production weaves together some of the most beautiful cultures from around the globe in a 90 minute production. In honor of International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 8th, we are hosting a multi-cultural performance to bring our community together and appreciate the vast cultural landscape in our city. The "Women of the World" production weaves together some of the most beautiful cultures from around the globe in a 90 minute show-stopping and electrifying performance. The Women of the World event is a multicultural experience for all people to enjoy. The plush venue space at Epiphany in Downtown Colorado Springs accommodates up to 250 guests and gives us the opportunity to expand our communities cultural awareness to Native American, East Indian, Pacific Islander, Latinx, and many others. Special thank you to:Peak Radar for joining hands with us to make this event possible!Cultural Performances: Odissi East Indian Classical Dance is a collective term for traditional Mexican dances that emphasize local folk culture with ballet characteristics – pointed toes, exaggerated movements, highly choreographed: Tejas Native American Song and Chant: A pow wow is a sacred social gathering held by many North American indigenous communities. A modern pow wow is a specific type of event for Native American people to meet and dance, sing, socialize, and honor their cultures: Stephanie Jerome Ballet Folklorico: This type of dance reflects the traditions, cultures and beliefs of people in a particular region. Folkloric dance expresses the life and spirit of a people through its movement and music. It is both historical and current, preserving tradition yet shifting with the current times: Ballet Folkorico De Barajas Hula is the storytelling dance of the Hawaiian Islands. As with all of Hawaiian culture, when you are fortunate enough to learn more about it, much deeper, more powerful and empowering truths may be revealed. Balinese dance is an ancient dance tradition that is part of the religious and artistic expression among the Balinese people of Bali island, Indonesia. Balinese dance is dynamic, angular and intensely expressive.[1] Balinese dancers express the stories of dance-drama through the bodily gestures including gestures of fingers, hands, head and eyes. More performances by: Manava O Polynesia Millenium All Stars ZHE: Vessle of Sound and Soulful Musician & Autumn Corin: RnB Recording Artist Charity Partner: We have partnered with the Pikes Peak Children's Museum to develop a Women of the World display. This exhibit will showcase the cultural performances captured from the event, with photos accompanied and cultural artifacts.
