Description
Join Sound Healing Artist, Davin Youngs at the Joinery for a transformational concert in healing sounds. When was the last time you had an experience with music that penetrated deeper than your ears? One that resonated through your whole body and transported you to another place without leaving the room? Join singer and sound healing artist, Davin Youngs at the The Joinery for The Soundness, an experience that promises all that and more. In the long standing tradition of using sound as a modality for healing, Davin will rely heavily on his voice and looping devices as well as overtone-emitting instruments to create a sonic container for restoration, transformation and change. What makes this journey truly special is the subtle integration of electronic beats and the emergence of music that reflects the wonder, beauty and possibility within each person present. Please BYO Mats and blankets as none will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing and bring any additional items that will set you up for maximum comfort. Also, feel free to bring crystals or tokens that you would like to charge in the sound. Due to city of Chicago ordinance, masks will be required. Doors open at 6:40pm and the event will begin promptly at 7pm. LATE ENTRY IS NOT PERMITTED. The Joinery is located at 2533 W. Homer Street. The entrance will be the door on the far left with "The Joinery" painted on it. Davin Youngs is a Chicago based singer, teacher and sound guide, leading individuals and groups into elevated sonic experiences. He uses improvised singing and intentional sound in performance, workshops and private sessions to hold space for change. His performed sound experiences take participants on a mindful journey, incorporating the voice, traditional healing instruments, looping and electronic beats, none of which are ever the same. He has brought improvised singing and sound experiences to companies and organizations like Coca-Cola, Google and Chicago Public Schools and has worked in the private voice studio with prominent artists hip-hop, punk and gospel.
