Plant walk among Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve with Cynthia Halliday and Larry Williams
This will be a true nature hike, and an easy walk on the biosphere floor. We will walk through the misty glades and learn about the majestic Coast Redwoods, check out the flora, and learn about animals in the forest. We will witness recovery from the 220 fire season, and see what is regenerating. We will search for the early blooming lilies, Slinkpods aka: Fetid Adders Tongue, and other mysteries of the dark woods.
This walk will be lead by Armstrong Redwoods Docents: Cynthia Halliday and Larry Williams, also Certified California Naturalists and Certified Animal Tracker level-2.
It is recommended to dress in layers, gloves, hat, scarf, and sturdy walking shoes. Bring a bag lunch. Maybe even a thermos full of a hot beverage.
We will meet in the parking lot just outside the Main Gate of Armstrong Redwoods.
Bring your Day-Use State Parks Pass, or pay $10 parking fee at the kiosk.
Heavy rain cancels.
