Florida has an amazing climate great for vegetable gardening. If you’ve been curious about what to grow and how to grow it, join us at the Laurel Community Garden from 10:30-Noon on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022. Come have fun with us as we explore the benefits of growing greens, growing gardens, and growing community! We will meet at the outdoor pavilion (near the playground and garden) where we kick off with Siri Khalsa sharing all about leafy greens and then we answer veggie-gardening related questions with our Master Gardener and veggie guru, Arnie. Then we’ll enjoy a visit inside the community garden where you can see fresh veggies growing. Perhaps you’ll glean some inspiration for your next garden project, too. This event is geared to adults, but supervised children will be welcome to tour the garden, too. With exception of designated service animals, pets are not allowed in the garden. If you register for this event but later discover you can’t attend, please cancel your ‘ticket’ so another may register. Thank you! If registration is full, but you would like to be on a wait list, please email [email protected] Your hosts: Siri Khalsa, Family Nutrition Program Manager; Arnie Barish, Volunteer Garden Manager and Master Gardener Volunteer; Mindy Hanak, Community and School Garden Coordinator, all with UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County & Sustainability There is some parking near the pavilion via Forest and Brown, or you can park at Laurel Park on Collins and walk over.
