WEST HAVEN, CT — A Stratford man is accused of stealing valuable comic books from a West Haven man while working as a contractor, according to the New Haven Register.
Frank Secchiaroli, 47, was charged in March 2020 with first-degree larceny and released after posting a $25,000 bond. He has yet to enter a plea and is due back in court on Feb. 1, according to state judicial records.
The Register reports the victim valued the stolen comic books at $250,000, including a first edition Spider-Man, along with the first meeting of Batman and Superman and other valuable comics. Police documented that nearly 250 of the victim's comics had been sold to a comic book store in Milford, according to the Register.
The victim said he had hired Secchiaroli for several other jobs over the course of 10 years, and that he had a key and had been alone in the house numerous times, the Register reported.
