NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Three candidates have taken out papers for North Andover's 2022 town election, one for each seat on the ballot, Town Clerk Dawne Warren said Wednesday. One seat each on the Select Board, School Committee and Housing Authority will be on the ballot in the March 29 election. Two incumbents have taken out papers to run for re-election: Rosemary Smedile for the Select Board and Stephen Long for the Housing Authority. Joseph Hicks has taken out papers for the School Committee. Hicks ran in the five-way race for two School Committee seats last year, narrowly missing out on the second available seat. Incumbent School Committee member Amy Mabley has not taken out papers to run for re-election. >>North Andover Town Election 2022: Nomination Papers Now Available Only Smedile has returned her nomination papers so far. Candidates must collect 50 signatures from registered town voters and deliver them to the town clerk by Feb. 8. Papers must be obtained by Feb. 4. Candidates have until Feb. 24 at 5 p.m. to withdraw.
