Description

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Fifty-five firefighters were called in to help put out a two-alarm fire in Cambridge Tuesday morning. One firefighter was injured, but treated by EMS and taken to a hospital with what fire crews are calling a non-life-threatening injury. Nine residents of the home are now displaced, but all were able to escape the fire without injury, Cambridge Fire Department says. The fire was reported on the top floor of the triple-decker at 259 Broadway just before 11:30 a.m., says Fire Chief Gerard Mahoney. The third floor suffered significant fire damage and the lower units sustained water damage. No additional information was immediately available. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
